17:00 TORTENSCHLACHT | CAKE FIGHT

In and out, out and in
who will loose and who will win?
They pray to me but do I care?
I lash the backsides of the air.
I have a cloak, a double cloak.
I turn it this way and I soak
in streams of gold.
I turn it that way, they go back
to fog and cold
and curse the burden of the black.

Now I give my whip a crack:
Southwind, Northwind, Eastwind, Westwind,
Whistling Wind, Piercing Wind, Blizzard Wind, Worst Wind,
Demon Wind, Spirit Wind, Ice Wind, Storm Wind,
and the thirteenth, the Sharp-torn Wind,
who will that be lucky for?
And who will bite the rocky floor?
Scry and spell
scry and spell
but I wont tell
no I wont tell.

SONG OF SHAMASH from Morgan, E. (2005). The play of Gilgamesh. Manchester: Carcanet.

Will you go on, you king, you man, you seeker?
Will you be stronger when you are weaker?
