Asylum for our construction trailer - the caravan rolls

For the last two years the trailer has become the symbol of KUNSTASYL. It embodies the project's movement and story. People who had to flee have expressed their wishes, hopes and feelings in paintings, that arose on those few square meters of the trailer's outer walls. The inside became a place of remembrance: The KUNSTASYL gallery with its photographs and objets d'art is devoted to everyday life that was lost.

That trailer embodies the nucleus of KUNSTASYL. Here, the idea of collective action and thinking of the native and homeless, the artists, creative minds and asylum seekers came into being. It is the place of origin from which artistic strategies to "conquer space" were developed - or to put it with the words of 8 years old Fatime, standing with her hands on her hips: "What did we not do for art."

Now the trailer has to leave the property of the home for asylum seekers at Staakener Strasse in Berlin.

Hence, we are urgently looking for asylum for it. A sheltered parking position would be highly appreciated. Even more, we wish for our trailer to find a future plan that keeps giving it life. Its little room offers so many possibilities: it can be a stage or a library, a room to communicate or for retreat, a greenhouse for utopian ideas.

We invite all of you who are interested in using the KUNSTASYL trailer - temporarily or in the long term - to present your concepts or ideas in a timely manner. We gladly accept offers for a secure parking space as well.

Ruschka and Zineta, Romani women and friends, who painted butterflies and field poppies with pink background to express hope, were send back to their countries of origin, Serbia and Bosnia.

Mr. Amir - he is the one who pained the bird chirping on the branch at the front of the trailer - became a father for the second time and started an apprenticeship to become a baker.

Dachil - who designed in 2015 the KUNSTASL - logo "fingerprint man" - became a student at foundation class of Kunsthochschule Weissensee.
