The project "culture unlocks new worlds" was initiated by Monika Grütters, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media and is operated by the federal states, local authority, national associations of art, and people acting in the realm of civil society.

Bekret Kibrom fled dictatorship in Eritrea. About a year ago he applied for asylum in Germany. Under the roofs of willow and straw that he weaved back home a lot of people found shelter. In the context of the project "daHEIM: glances into fugitive lives" the Museum of European Cultures and KunstAsyl invite you to learn from Berket Kibrom how to build a roof in the tradition of his people living in Ghergef.
