„My heart cries“ – The journey to Tuzla

14.04.2017 Kings daHEIM

For more than two years, Zineta and her granddaughter Melisa took part in establishing KunstAsyl. The girl and her grandmother, caryatids of the project, were deported to Bosnia on April 14, 2016.

Almost exactly a year later we went to see them in Tuzla. Above the rough walls of Zineta’s burnt-out house the charred roof-chair provokes the sky. “My heart cries,” Zineta says, “why doesn’t it stop beating?” Whoever climbs the hill of Kalevici, does not climb a summit and yet the view falls into deep abyss. People are walking along the cliff, blinded. Life’s monstrous gullet below them. “Why,” Zineta asks, “can’t I just tumble down?“

A year has gone by. The present does not point into the future.

Der Kaffee in Kroatien ist billig, die Strafe an der Grenze teuer.
