"The great shroud of the sea rolled on" *

17.12.2015 daHEIM

Serdar has found the middle way in most things, when it comes to mourning, longing, and wanting for his family: he will not cut his hair until the subsequent immigration of his wife and three children is made possible.

In a workshop that took place at daHEIM on December 11 the Syrian agro engineer has designed and build the prototype of a life jacket, together with the custodian of the Museum of European Cultures in Berlin, Dagmar Neuland-Kitzerow, Aymen and Therry. It is supposed to protect people from drowning as an alternative to the life jackets that are sold at the Turkish borders, since those are not only overpriced but made in villainous quality - facilitating rather death than survival.

Currently, the life jacket made of water bottles is an exhibit at neighborhood management Spandau-Neustadt. KunstAsyl is offering insights of daHEIM in the neighborhood management until the end of March.
